Hello Everyone!!

Welcome to a review! I know it’s been fOrEvEr since I posted something like this, but to be honest, I’ve either been busy or unmotivated. For that, I am sorry. I am going to try and be on top of my posting and writing from now on, but I’m probably not going to be posting daily like I was during quarantine or the summer.

So *claps* let me give you a little bAcKgRoUnD on this book here 🙃

This part is going to be a little update. So, just recently (President’s Day Weekend to be exact) I turned 14. A HUGE milestone for me especially because my parents let me finally have social media! But, I’m not going to advertise my account on my blog because I just want to keep that part private.

For my birthday this year, my family and I drove down to Destin, Florida. We drove because we didn’t really feel comfortable flying during this time. It took us about 13 hours to get there and 20 HOURS (help me rid of that memory 😭) to get back. We didn’t get back home until 5 in the morning!

Anyways, the trip was absolutely amazing excluding that little detail. While we were at the beach, we went to a book store down there. I think it was called “Books a Million.” I don’t know, something like that. But, I found a book I discovered on Goodreads and we bought it.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you (my review) of the… INHERITANCE GAMES

THE INHERITANCE GAMES | MY REVIEW

(this is from the jacket)

Avery Grambs has a plan for a better future: survive high school, win a scholarship, and get out. But her fortunes change in an instant when billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies and leaves Avery virtually his entire fortune. The catch? Avery has no idea why–or even who Tobias Hawthorne is. To receive her inheritance, Avery must move into a sprawling, secret passage-filled Hawthorne House, where every room bears the old man’s touch–and his love of puzzles, riddles, and codes.

Unfortunately for Avery, Hawthorne House is also occupied by the family that Tobias Hawthorne just dispossessed. This includes the four Hawthorne grandsons: dangerous, magnetic, brilliant boys who grew up with every expectation that one day, they would inherit billions. Heir apparent Grayson Hawthorne is convinced that Avery must be a con-woman, and he’s determined to take her down. His brother, Jameson, views her as their grandfather’s last hurrah: a twisted riddle, a puzzle to be solved. Caught in a world of wealth and privilege, with danger around every turn, Avery will have to play the game herself just to survive.

“Quotes…”

“And at the end of the day, he’d chosen me. Over family. Over his mother.” – Avery Grambs

“You must be Mystery Girl,” he said

“I’m Avery,” I corrected. I’d come out here to get away from the Hawthornes and their grief. There wasn’t a trace of care on this boy’s face, like life was one grand lark. Like he wasn’t grieving just as much as the people inside were.” – Jameson Hawthorne & Avery Grambs

“They were — the four of them — a unit. They were Hawthornes. I wasn’t. I felt that now, in a physical way. They shared a bond that was impervious to outsiders.” – Avery Grambs

“What are your intentions with my brother?” – Nash Hawthorne

“It is not until the third — nay fourth — scone that you develop any kind of scone-eating expertise.” – Xander Hawthorne

“Do you want me to write the number down?” I asked.

“On what?” Grayson asked softly.

I swallowed. “How do you know that I won’t lie about my number if you get it right?”

Grayson was quiet for a few seconds, then spoke. “I trust you.”

I knew, with every fiber of my being, that Grayson Hawthorne did not trust easily — or much. I swallowed. “Go ahead.” – Avery Grambs & Grayson Hawthorne

RATING!!

Honestly, this is probably my second favorite book — only to Red Queen. I loved how it was so mysterious and modern. Plus, I could relate to some of the characters and I loved the romance. I am 95% sure that Avery will end up dating 2 out of the 4 Hawthorne grandsons (preferably Grayson😍🥰) I also loved how Avery’s best friend talked. It was so funny. It reminds me a lot of the movie KNIVES OUT.

Now, without further ado, I give the Inheritance Games a rating of…

10/10!!!

Like I said, I LOVED THIS BOOK! I normally don’t read mystery novels, but I greatly recommend this book to anyone. Even if you read completely different genres, I think this book would apply to all readers. It has more than just mystery: it has romance, comedy, and it is pretty dramatic as well.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! Stay tuned for Dear James chapter three!
